


[before the_fall of the berlin wall in 1989] prenzlauer berg, the southern end of mauerpark strip. was separated into: the western part, the eastern part, and the in between was no-man’s land of the military police, anyone who wanted to escape was immediately shot [after the_fall of the berlin wall in 1989] the death strip was transformed into a park characterized by a great deal of busy liberate activities, public transportation, shops, restaurants, and cultural facilities. the_fall aims to end an era of certain ideologies, and starting a new one. the design is composed of two different phases; [before the fall] is materializing life in the form of an architectural collage “base building” representing religion, culture and society. a collective memory of the past. [after the fall] spirituality represented as a mass falling into our world. the collapsing of life and after life. testing their relation and aesthetic connection.
