the_pumpkin_head is an experimental project based on a narrative of a 35 year old organic food head chef, who had her head turn into a pumpkin after being exiled from her job. to then enter a realm where she has to overcome physical complexities to be able to cope with a new identity: being the architecture of her own territory! what made the house a quirky one was the idea of having a sturdy structured machine implemented inside a large chimney. brutally intruding the three main spaces(kitchen, restaurants and dwelling chamber), which created an ambiance of a factory/tower perception. however, the industrial feel of the chimney may be deceptive as it’s a combination of scrap/rusty metals, fixed by the same wooden primitive structure of the rest of the house, inspired by the work of the conceptual belgian artist arne_quinze.
